Dear people, somehow involved in beautiful Zambia,
On behalf of the Board and Committee of Platform Zambia, I must inform you that we have just decided not to continue the Zambia Day 2020 scheduled for April 4.
There are several reasons for this:
1) The spread of the Corona Virus and the national measures announced by the Dutch government. As a result, our location for April 4, the Novalis College in Eindhoven, on Thursday. decided that the lessons and extra activities in the school will be severely limited from Monday March 16.
2) Due to the same Corona Virus, the invited Zambians living in Belgium will not be present.
3) The invitation I sent on February 19, 2020 said that we would like to hear before March 16 how many people we could expect. A few took the trouble to respond that they would be unable to attend on April 4, but so far we had few applications.
The registration fee already transferred will be refunded by the treasurer.
The board and the Committee still believe that we, as Platform Zambia, organize the annual Zambia Day mainly for the Foundations affiliated with the Platform. NGOs and people with an interest in Zambia in the broadest sense of the word remain welcome because they too can contribute as we have noticed in recent years.
We therefore hope that both the Foundations affiliated with the Platform and the other addresses now addressed will all take the trouble to respond. So that we can have a Zambia Day 2020 again this year, but then in September or October, depending on the availability of the school and responses to this message.
With best regards,
Arlet Splint, secretary
